The dress code for San Benito CISD is established to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards. Student's mode of dress or grooming shall be neat, clean, properly fitting, decent, in good taste, and shall not include grotesque extremes or fads that may create an interruption of the learning process, orderly administration of school-related activities, or create a safety hazard for students or other persons on or off-campus.
Parents may determine their child’s personal dress and grooming standards provided that they comply with the following:
- Students are required to wear polo shirts with or without Ed Downs Logo
- Polo shirts must be tucked in at all times including during after school program
- The following colors will be required every day (Monday –Friday) Except on Express yourself Thursday and Spirit Day Friday

- Students are able to wear jeans/pants or shorts in the following colors (belts optional)

- No camouflage pants or shorts
- Shorts must touch the knees
- Girls may wear a uniform jumper, uniform polo style dress, or uniform skort that touch the knees in the following colors

- Campus team shirts and district spirit (Greyhound) shirts may be worn on Fridays Only during the first semester
- College shirts may be worn on Fridays Only during the second semester
- If a student does not have a spirit shirt or college shirt, they must wear their school polo shirt
- Closed shoes or tennis shoes are required during the days they are scheduled to go to P.E.
