We have beautified the entrances to our library by having Mr. Angel Hernandez, artist, paint a mural depicting our “Reading Takes You Into A Learning Adventure” and “Wild About Reading” themes.

  • To foster a learning environment that encourages investigation, allows for independent thinking, and develops effective study habits for all ages and abilities.
  • To provide an opportunity for students to develop the skills and attitudes which will encourage school library usage.
  • To provide materials that support the curriculum, student interests, and staff needs as funds are available.
  • To model the integration of technology in the curriculum for students and teachers.
  • To abide by the principles set forth by  the American Association of School Librarians.

Students can check in/out books before, during, and after school.

The books will be checked out for a full week period.  If you come on Monday, your book will be due on the following Monday.  *If you came on your own to check out a book, you will need to remember when the books are due.  Holidays or weekends do not count.

You are responsible for your books.  If you are late with a book, you will need to return the book as soon as possible and pay your fine.  For each day and for each book that is late, it is 5 cents.  If your book is late for 3 days, the fine will be 15 cents.  If you lose or damage the book, you will have to pay for the replacement.

Library Projects

Throughout the year, we will be using the computers to access the internet for research.  We will be searching databases that are safe, accurate, and easy to understand.  The information/ skills learned can be used for multimedia projects or reports.
